Holistic Internal & Integrative Medicine
New Patient Consultations
During a new patient consultation, Dr. Brown will document your health history, focusing on the concern that brought you in. She will perform a physical exam and provide an outline of what she can offer. It’s recommended to select a 60 or 90 minute visit.
After your consultation, Dr. Brown will complete an extensive chart review, and then share more recommendations with one or more follow-ups. If you have seen Dr. Brown within the last two years, this will be a visit to establish care in this practice. It’s recommended to select a 45, 60, or 90 minute visit.
Follow-Up Visits
These visits are designed for those who have completed a new patient consultation. For some patients, these may be regular visits to help manage their disease holistically, complimenting what their Primary Care Physician recommends. For other patients, these may be one to two visits a year to ask Dr. Brown questions and have her help you create a holistic care plan.
Stress Management Groups
These groups have 5 to 12 people and will occur at or outside our practice or at a place of business. These sessions are designed to help people manage stress in healthy, holistic ways. Each visit is summarized with a binder or handout overviewing the session and key takeaways.
Groups can be set up to include 3 to 10 sessions:
- Session 1: Understanding Stress, Introduction to The Relaxation Response
- Session 2: Mindfulness and Biofeedback
- Session 3: Movement, Resiliency, and Spirituality
- Session 4: Change Your Mind to Change Your Mood
- Session 5: More detailed Relaxation Responses and more on Mood
- Session 6: Nutrition and Massage
- Session 7: Relationships and Compassion
- Session 8: Nature, Recreation, and Leisure
- Session 9: Communication and Setting Goals
- Session 10: Wrap Up
What to Expect During Your Visit
At Integrative Medicine of Maine, I give my patients the time and space to share their health history, concerns, and questions. I’ll listen to you, provide information on the health concern/disease that brought you to the practice, and partner with you in creating a plan to work toward your health goals.
I believe in giving patients the knowledge and tools to help make their own informed health decisions.
